A Proven Method to Boost Memory, Focus &
Confidence in Children – Welcome to the UCMAS World

About the
UCMAS Concept

The UCMAS (Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System) is a globally recognized brain development initiative designed for children aged 4 to 13 years. This unique educational system enhances brain power by teaching students to perform rapid and accurate mental calculations—without calculators or digital devices. Through the use of visualisation techniques, students gradually transition from using a physical abacus to solving complex problems mentally.

What makes UCMAS special is its ability to stimulate both the left and right hemispheres of the brain. While the left brain manages logic and numbers, the right brain enhances creativity, memory, and imagination. The program trains children to visualize the abacus in their mind, creating strong image-based memory and improving focus, listening skills, and cognitive flexibility.

UC Tool
THE ABACUS

The abacus is a time-tested calculation tool that has been used for centuries across Asia and other parts of the world. At UCMAS, we use the Japanese Abacus (Soroban) to help students grasp mathematical concepts through a base-10 system, which builds a strong number sense from an early age.

When students practice mental arithmetic, they visualize numbers as beads on the abacus, triggering faster neural responses and enhancing visual memory. Our scientifically developed 6- finger technique further strengthens hand-eye coordination and brain activation, setting UCMAS apart as a truly holistic learning system.
